Random error

Random error is said to occur when repeated measurements of the quantity, give different values under the same conditions. It is due to some unknown causes. Repeating the measurement several times and taking an average can reduce the effect of random errors.

^to calculate the radius, diameter needs to be divided by 2. thus, 1.22/2 = 0.61
